Quick Morning Green Smoothie

I hated breakfast when I was pregnant.  Taking away sleep for food has never been priority for me, especially when I had a long commute ahead of me.  Don’t get me wrong, as I’ve stated before – I LOVE FOOD.  But when I was pregnant I loved sleep more!  However, knowing that I had nausea to deal with, especially in my first trimester, I knew that I had to have something to tide me over and provide me with nutrients for my growing baby so I came up with this delicious Morning Green Smoothie!

Ingredients

5 large strawberries
2 handfuls baby spinach
1/2 ripe banana
1/2 ripe avocado or 1 tbsp coconut oil
1 tbsp each sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and hemp hearts
1 scoop of your favourite protein powder

Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth!

You can definitely make these ahead by putting all of the ingredients (except the milk) in freezer bags, freezing them and then tossing them into the blender with your milk when you’re ready for your smoothie to make things even faster!

I topped mine with Manitoba Harvest Hemp Hearts and pomegranate arils which have a lovely pop of flavour.
